Even though I’d spend my 20’s working out in a gym, heading back into one after a substantial amount of time “off” made me feel nervous. I can totally remember walking around looking at all the different equipment and feeling intimidated and very unsure about what to do.

I was convinced that everyone was watching me and secretly laughing (the real truth is no one is paying you any attention at all – they’re there to get their own workout in) so I’d do my best to hide under my ball cap, make sure I didn’t make eye contact with anyone, do a few bicep curls or walk on a treadmill and then I’d leave.

The worst part is I’d leave feeling slightly embarrassed and like I’d wasted my time. Can you relate? I’ve learned a lot since then and one of my most favorite things to do is circuit training.

It’s fun, it’s time efficient, and it’s effective – meaning I’m able to get my heart rate up, work on muscular endurance and burn a substantial amount of calories in a short period of time.

I wanted to share one of the first circuits I designed for myself when I was getting back into the gym with you.
