The science of transformation excites me.
It motivates me. It’s why I do what I do.

The problem is so many women are running around – balancing kids, career, the after school snack, spouses – that they lose sight of themselves in the process. They look in the mirror and don’t like what they see but don’t know who or where to turn to for a step in the right direction. Sound familiar?

I know because I was once this person.

Being a single mama to my kids, while being the CEO of my company, I found myself burning out fast. I stayed at 35+lbs overweight. I was so tired of feeling this way and I knew I had to make some drastic changes. I could continue on, trudging through each day – jacked up on caffeine, comforting myself with carbs, and procrastinating moving my body or I could radically redesign my life.

Well, I chose the redesign.

Not only did I lose weight, get moving, and finally feel like myself, but my business changed, as well.

It was a full life transformation. And it can be this way for you, too.

Back then I knew:

  • What it felt like to live in a body with an extra 30 pounds
  • What it felt like to be an outsider at the gym
  • What it felt like to smile on the outside but feel totally miserable on the inside

I began to learn:

  • What it feels like to transcend limitations and keep promises to myself
  • What it feels like to move and to love the way my body feels and performs
  • The magical CLICK of that moment when taking care of my body feels like elation instead of obligation

I continue to remind myself:

  • That to be my best self I need to take good care of myself
  • How awesome it feels to eat good food and move my body because I can (and want to)
  • That life is a journey and I am always learning

It’s not about quick weight loss that eventually creeps back on and makes you feel worse. This is about becoming conscious about how we look at food and how we nourish our bodies.

SNAPSHOTS FROM MY PAST

Before becoming a Weight Loss & Fitness Expert I spent six summers rappelling from helicopters as a wildland firefighter in British Columbia.

I’ve completed 6 marathons (and running Boston this April!), 12 half-marathons, 3 rugged adventures races, Ironman Canada twice and every other distance of triathlon known too!

I gave birth to my youngest kidlet at home, in the kitchen in an inflatable kiddy pool.

I briefly worked as a business coach for women entrepreneurs, and I was freakishly good at it. Wasn’t my life’s calling, though. I’d rather be out running.

WORD ON THE STREET

I eat whole wheat toast with butter AND peanut butter, just about every morning.

I lust over fitness clothes — and basically live in my yoga pants

I make my own yogurt, bread, ice cream, jam, waffle & pancakes mixes — from scratch.

I’m not a crazy hippie, livin’ off the grid. I just made cooking at home a priority. Simple as that.

I’m a Certified Snag Faller (this is a real certification, people) which means I can take down big-ass, dangerous trees with a Husqvarna chainsaw. It’s one of my favorite things to do.
